Well, my attempt to get Cotton and myself on screen at the same time failed miserably. But I think we wound up with a pretty good video after all, thanks to Grace’s superb editing skills.
Here’s what Cotton didn’t tell you.
Old Mexico is the first story being shared that gives any real references to the time before, when Hank Cotton ran off to Mexico. In this short story, readers are introduced to the Oaxaca City, and the Vasconceloses. The family that basically adopted my man and played a major role in his rehabilitation.
Thankfully, Cotton did kinda show up for the reading, but only after Brooke found him and Jean-Paul fishing. Those two are a mess! 🙃
So, I hope y’all will enjoy Hank Cotton’s reading of a portion of Old Mexico. Here’s the rest of the story…
Old Mexico
It was 175 degrees(F) with not a lick of breeze on The Porch. The ceiling fan had morphed into a furnace days before. It was the kind of stifling Southern heat that you can only know once you’ve experienced it.
