What was intended to be a Hank Cotton Interview wrapping up his debut novelette and our first feature, The Ugly Duckling, turned out to be a free-for-all.
Cotton was more interested in cutting up than discussing his book. And obvi, the other two were just as complicit. It’s a good thing they can all write like the Dickens! Otherwise, idk if it’d be worth it.
Then again, I do feel for Grace. Nobody gave her a script, because there was no script. The fellas wanted to wing it. So I’d say Grace handled the scriptless adventure very well, wouldn’t you?
And I must add the fact that Jean-Paul being the only one who didn’t get on the call, is certainly a win. Heck, Beau is in Saranda, Albania, for goodness sakes! I really do like that, “Southerner Abroad,” series idea they had, too. I wonder if it’ll materialize? There’s already so much in the hopper…
I do wish Hank had talked a little bit more about his book. And yes, I am going to have him record a reading of The Ugly Duckling. It’ll be added after the story is paywalled next week. 😉Hint-Hint.
I’ve got to give it to him though, there is a huge backlog of stories in the Southern Writers Guild Archive that were never sent, and they have very few reads. So look out for them to hit inboxes over the next few weeks.
And, we still don’t know what is in the cooler — I’m getting a little concerned. Cotton did say that there was nothing illegal in there, didn’t he?
