Chapter 1- Candy
Goosebumps appeared on her legs as soon as the car door opened. At least he let me wear a jacket, even if I’m not allowed to zip it.
“Walk over and stand by that barricade. And don’t even think about trying anything, I run the law around here, they’ll just give you right back.”
“Okay,” Jenny said, shivering.
“And quit all that goddamn shaking, nobody wants to fuck an icecube.”
The parking lot was paved, but Jenny still stumbled in the six-inch stilettos. She’d never worn heels before, except maybe from her mom’s closet when she was really little. Why did I ever think this was a good idea? Oh yeah, I know why. Booker said he’d give me a gram of my own if I did it, and he’d kill me if I didn’t… So she’d agreed to, “find a date or two.” Besides, Booker said that truck drivers were easy, “they’re real quick,” he’d said. “Most of the girls say they barely get the condom on before they bust.”
He was right about the first one, and the second. But when he made her take a third date for the night, the guy had been rough with her.
“That’s all part of it Candy, that’s your new name, Candy. Got it?” Booker said as he handed her a cigarette cellophane of crystal shards. He lifted it back up before she could close her hand, “got it Candy?”
“Yes daddy,” she said obediently.
“Take as much as you want, you did good for me tonight Candy.” She didn’t want it, but she was beginning to feel sick again, so… He waited for her to crush a small crystal, then handed her a rolled up twenty, “keep that too, you earned it. That last one paid real good.”
The ice felt like it was burning her nose from the inside out. Jenny stuck the rolled up bill in her bra, then zipped her up jacket. But Booker reached over and unzipped it again, then his pants. So Candy went back to work.
