Hank Cotton
Hank is a Hotshot Truck Driver, turned author. He is writing a memoir, and you’ll find samples of it along with corresponding short stories on this page. A full archive of his work can be found here.
The Cooler, is Hank’s introduction to The Porch. It’s the first piece Hank wrote for The Southern Writers Guild. And frankly, he’d just written it in response to some of the stories primalbeet and Grace shared with him. This “Cooler” kept showing up, so he felt like he needed to explain it.
Now this next one isn’t a Hank Cotton story — well it is, but Hank didn’t write it. However he does fancy’s it as an introduction — probably because he likes this picture😏
Oh and by the way, I’m MJ Polk, Hank’s handler. I’m not exactly sure why he trusts me with his stories, but he does. And I’ve agreed to pass them on to all of you.
While Hank tramps around the USA playing Hotshot Hero — writing his memoir in shady diners, and truck stops. I’m here in Southern Georgia, studying Philosophy and working on my craft. I’m a Copywriter, though I don’t push it much here. I prefer to let my Creative Writing speak for me.
I have two other Substack Publications, my blog, and a community pub called Stories from the Jukebox. Where each week myself, and a group of talented Substack writers tackle a writing prompt inspired by the greatest songs of all time.
Below you’ll find the other stories Hank has authored. And buckle up buttercup, because I can assure you that this guy’s just getting started!
Don’t like commitments, but still want to support my writing? You can make a one-time contribution here.
